In 2017, UNESCO Bangkok will undertake the evaluation of its project “Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage through the Strengthening of National Capacities in Asia and the Pacific: Phase II”. Call for Consultant: Intangible Cultural Heritage Project Monitoring.

The selected specialist shall evaluate the implementation and results of the project in the 5 participating countries (Fiji, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Samoa and Sri Lanka).

The project “Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage through the Strengthening of National Capacities in Asia and the Pacific: Phase II” is financed by the Government of Japan. Project implementation started in April 2015 and is expected to end in April 2017.

Profile requirements

  •   5-7 years of professional experience in results-based project evaluation, preferably in the field of capacity-building programme and/or culture and development;

  •   Knowledge of the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage will be an asset;

  •   Capability to formulate indicators for monitoring; and

  •   Excellent spoken and writing skills in English; good competence in a language of one of the participating countries is an advantage.
