Open call for The Unifiedfield artist residencies in Spain and the Philippines. The Unifiedfield is an independent art space and artist-run organization focusing on the experimental aspects of sound, video and performance art.

The Unifiedfield previously occupied a traditional complex amongst rice fields in Yogyakarta (Indonesia), subsequently moving into a cave in Granada (Spain) before settling in an antique building nestled in Granada’s historic Moorish quarters, the Albayzín, where it currently runs an artist residency. In 2013 The Unifiedfield initiated its Nomadic Artist-in-Residence Program in The Philippines and it is planning to establish a permanent residency there any time soon.

NOTE: no specific deadline for applications - see website for more details

NOTE: there is NO grant offered for either the residency costs or travel expenses - see below.

THE UNIFIEDFIELD ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE GRANADA

The Unifiedfield's Artist-In-Residence (AIR) programme ofers to artists a very special experience to create work in the Spanish city of Granada, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The space is a charming old antique apartment located right in the middle of the old town (Albayzín) on Carrera Del Darro , an emblematic street in Granada with direct views to the Moorish palace the Alhambra.

Access to The Unifiedfield’s artist residency programme is open to all artists, musicians, writers and curators without restriction, but priority will be given to artists working on the experimental and interdisciplinary fringes.

The Unifiedfield will select the most interesting proposals, in terms of quality and artistic interest, from the total number of applications. For artists who apply, this is a production-based residency where The Unifiedfield will assist the participants in the development of a new project or the continuation of an existing one, and at the end of the residency the participants will be asked to give a public presentation in Granada about the work produced / developed during the residency. Eventually if circumstances allow, under the discretion of The Unifiedfield, we can organize several other presentations for further promotion of the artists internationally.

The Unifiedfield will be working closely with the selected artists to seek the subvention needed to cover the residency fees as well as the necessary support for the artist's production cost, living expenses, travel expenses, etc.

This open call is for 15 days to 2 months-long residencies in 2014.

Access to The Unifiedfield’s Nomadic Artist-In-Residence program in The Philippines is open to all artists, filmmakers, musicians, writers and curators without restriction, but priority will be given to artists working on site-specific, mobile and travel-based projects on the experimental and interdisciplinary fringes.

The Unifiedfield will select the most interesting proposals, in terms of quality and artistic interest, from the total number of applications. For artists who apply, this is a production-based residency where The Unifiedfield will assist the participants in the development of a new project or the continuation of an existing one.

The Unifiedfield does not possess a permanent physical space in The Philippines. Genuinely attentive to the artists’ needs, The Unifiedfield remains flexible, and if the occasion arises where a larger space is required for a certain event, The Unifiedfield can collaborate locally and internationally with other art spaces and institutions. Eventually, if circumstances allow and under the discretion of The Unifiedfield, we can organize several other presentations for further promotion of the artists internationally.

The Unifiedfield is an independent non-profit artist-run organization. To cover the residency expenses we charge the invited artists a residency fee (the amount will vary depending on the project). The Unifiedfield can assist the artists with letters of invitation to enable to raise additional funds to cover, if needed, the residency fees as well as the artist’s production costs, living and travel expenses, etc
