Venice | Biennale College Dance 2021 - call for dancers & dancer-choreographers

Are you a young dancer ready for new physical and creative challenges? Are you a curious dancer-choreographer seeking fresh inspiration? Would you like to spend 3 months at the Biennale College Danza in Venice?

The Biennale College Dance 2021 is being launched under the guidance of the new director Wayne McGregor.

Two international calls are announced to respectively select 20 dancers and 5 dancer-choreographers, professionals aged 30 and under, and are now online on the La Biennale di Venezia website, www.labiennale.org.

Biennale College Dance – in the project by Wayne McGregor – will select the 20 dancers and the 5 dancer-choreographers who will be involved in two specific programmes, shared in part, across a span of three months (10 May > 31 July) in Venice. The two programmes will merge in the presentation on stage at the 15th International Festival of Contemporary Dance (23 July > 1 August) of a double programme:

Conditions of participation

Attendance for the whole programme is mandatory for participation in the project.
The selected participants may stay in a shared apartment arranged and paid for them by the La Biennale di Venezia. The participants must pay for their own travel and food.
Each selected applicant will be required to pay a registration fee in the amount of € 80.00 (VAT included, non-refundable) to be paid exclusively by credit card following the announcement of their acceptance, and no later than the date that will be specified in due time.

The selection will be made at the complete discretion of the Director of the Dance Department of the La Biennale di Venezia, Wayne McGregor.
