Viet Nam | A. Farm artist residencies at San Art
Open call for A. Farm 1st residency season at San Art in Viet Nam. Grants for travel, production and stipend are offered for 2 Vietnamese and 1 Southeast Asian artist. Artists from other countries are welcome to apply for fee-based residencies.
A. Farm welcomes artists, curators, researchers, writers and other creatives or academics as we always look to expand the dialogues between our residents.
A. Farm, a collaborative residency between Nguyen Art Foundation, MoT+++, and Sàn Art, is now open to applications. A converted factory, with 6 large studios, a spacious gallery and a sunlit courtyard, A. Farm would like to encourage every artist of any age and any career stage to examine how this platform might benefit their artistic practices. Apply now for the 1st residency Season from December 2018 to May 2019!
2 Vietnamese artists and 1 Southeast Asian artist will be offered production funds (US$850), travel funds (as reimbursement up to US$220)*, a stipend (up to US$180/month), living quarters and large studio, with communal kitchen and other shared facilities for a dedicated period of 5 months. Within the residency period, artists are expected to lead a public workshop/presentation alongside producing a new body of work. All artists will be linked to a talking partner – who may be an artist, writer, or curator – in order to generate critical dialogue and assist with artistic production.
A.Farm also accepts domestic and international applications for a negotiable time and at fee of US$500/month.
Please note:
All funded artists (Vietnamese and Southeast Asia) are required to stay and work at A. Farm for the stated duration of the residency (5 months: December 2018 - May 2019). If your time cannot accommodate the entire period, you are welcome to apply for the time-flexible residency; please note that there will be a residency fee of US$500/month for this.
