CKU, the Danish Centre for Culture and Development, publishes The Contribution of Art and Culture in Peace and Reconciliation Processes in Asia - a literature review and case studies from Pakistan, Nepal, Myanmar, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. It is available online.

This new study is commissioned by CKU and authored by PhD Ereshnee Naidu-Silverman. It is presented on the occasion of the two-day regional seminar held in Jakarta (20-21 November 2015) about the contribution of art and culture in peace and reconciliation processes. The seminar has a special focus on Asia and is co-arranged with the Embassy of Denmark in Indonesia and the Jakarta Biennale.

The study provides evidence, based on research and case studies, on the linkages between art and culture and their role in pre- and post-conflict interventions for participants to use in their future efforts, with a focus on Asia.

The CKU Occasional Paper Series on culture and development make reports and studies by researchers, scholars and practitioners available online. The aim of CKU publications is to share knowledge by providing documentation, lessons-learnt and research that capture the relationship between culture and development.
