14th China Children’s Theatre Festival call for international performances

ASSITEJ China, with their hosts China National Theatre for Children (CNTC), are calling for applications from international companies for children and youth for the 14th China Children’s Theatre Festival, from 18 July to 15 August 2025 in Beijing.

All genres are welcome, including children’s drama, musicals, physical theatre, dance theatre, puppet theatre, and fairy tale plays. There are no restrictions on scale and the performance must be at least 45 minutes per show.

The works on the themes of promoting healthy, joyful growth for children and teenagers, environmental awareness and social responsibility are welcomed (the performance should not include nudity, violence, gore, religious themes, or coarse language). For non-Chinese performances, subtitles are recommended.

If available, please provide technical reference photos or diagrams to help the review team understand the stage setup and requirements.

Support

The organiser will cover local accommodation, per diem, airport pick-up and drop-off and other local transportation related to performances. Additionally, they will provide performance fees in Beijing or other cities in China for selected companies (will be specified in the contract). International travel and shipping costs will be the responsibility of the participants.
