The 2014 Call for project proposals from UNESCO's International Fund for the Promotion of Culture is now open!  The main priority is projects submitted by young artists and creators aged 18-30. A further priority is for projects submitted from or benefiting developing countries.

Eligible activities:

Activities eligible for receipt of assistance from the International Fund for the Promotion of Culture:

  •  the production of cultural and artistic works;

  • the organization of cultural and artistic events of national, regional and/or international scope contributing to the establishment of culture and development strategies and programmes.


The call intends to support projects, which are in compliance with the criteria set out in the Operational Guidelines of the International Fund for the Promotion of Culture (IFPC).

Are you an artist or creator? An NGO or a non-profit private or public body, whose activities contribute to the promotion of culture and artistic creation? If your project is compliant with the criteria indicated in the Operational Guidelines of the International Fund for the Promotion of Culture (IFPC), you can submit your project application and be considered in order to benefit from the financial support of the Fund.

You are strongly advised to read the Frequently Asked Questions prior to applying.

Priority is given to young artists and creators aged 18 to 30 years old.

Priority shall be given , as far as possible, to requests from or benefiting countries on the latest DAC List of Official Development Assistance Recipients.

Only a limited number of projects will be approved for funding.

Check out the 9 projects funded by IFPC in 2013- no information is currently provided by UNESCO on the number of applications received but it must be high!

The deadline of the 2014 call for proposals is 30 May 2014 at noon CET.

Please note that funding can not be provided to projects that are already In receipt of funding provided by other UNESCO Funds or programmes.

Please note: there is a parallel call open to institutions and NGOs for the UNESCO IFCD - make sure you read the guidelines carefully and apply for the right scheme!!
